Hello, I am Derrick Batten, Jr. I am someone who believes strongly that we are put on this world to help others first. I believe we are given certain qualities and traits that we all can use to help the world move forward. Purpose is the drive each of us should have to create our own personal missions and visions in this world to help people; whether it is for everyone, or a specific group of individuals.

I received my Bachelor of Fine Arts in Professional Theatre from North Carolina A&T State University '20 with a concentration in Acting/Theatre Management and my Master of Fine Arts in Design & Production from University of North Carolina School of the Arts '25 with a concentration in Wig & Makeup.

My areas of interest are Theatre/Production Management, Specialized Design/Artistry, Performance (acting), Wig Construction, Hair Ventilation, Special Effects Make-up, Beauty Make-up, Wig/Period Styling, Custom Hair Pieces, Prosthetic Application for Theatre and Film.

Member of Alpha Psi Omega National Theatre Honor Society.
